GEORGIA ARENA was born in Tbilisi with the desire to host the venue for the next EUROBASKET 2021

The first preliminary project located in the Dighomi district is a functional and technologically designed building in order to provide the promoter with the necessary tool that allows the organization of such an event.

GEORGIA ARENA is configured as a multipurpose space that reaches its peak with the practice of basketball, reaching a capacity of 15,052 spectators. At the same time, it aspires to become the engine of the city of Tbilisi where synergies converge.

In the GEORGIA ARENA, an understanding must be produced between the monumentality that a public building must manifest and the contemporaneity that the “spirit of the time” demands.

The imposing presence of some historic buildings, their strong presence in the urban fabric and the power of attraction they produce on the general public are well known.

The GEORGIA ARENA project takes its inspiration from the pioneering and innovative goldsmith art that was capable of carrying out the Trialeti culture 2,000 years before Jesus Christ. This innovative way of working metal was passed down from generation to generation in the Caucasus, moving to the rest of the world around 4,000 years ago.

GEORGIA ARENA stands next to the Kura River destined to become a landmark in the city, a country project, making a nod to Georgian culture.
